Early Victorian Beech & Elm Windsor Armchair
This attractive antique windsor armchair dates from approx. 1840. We believe it to be constructed from beech and elm. The chair has a nice shaped seat with turned armed supports and legs. It has a decorative fretwork back-splat. It has a lower H-stretcher.
Condition Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition, with some wear consistent with age and use. The chair is solid and usuable, with some minimal movement in the joints. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, and the chair is overall a little faded. It has a lovely worn patina. As can be seen in the photographs the chair back is not symmetrical - this is due to it being a hand-made country piece.
The approx. measurements are as follows
Overall - 84.5cm high, 55cm wide, 59cm deep (to maximums) 38cm high to seat. Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
