Here is an example of an early and primitive English wall hanging joined oak corner cupboard, from the Queen Anne / George I period, circa 1700 - 1730, in good original condition. This style of cupboard probably originated from the North of England. The solid door is made from a single plank of stunning oak, into a fielded panel design with a dome top shape, built with the traditional peg construction method. There is stunning oxblood colour to the oak door. The door is attached to the frame with the original primitive hand forged iron hinges and handmade nails and the original brass knob. The cupboard even retails its original door lock. The sides of cupboard frame are angled. The cupboard benefits from a traditional protruding cornice and matching frieze. Inside, there are two shaped fixed shelves. To the back, the cupboard retains its original pine backboards. The cupboard comes with brass hanging brackets. It is unusual to find an early corner cupboard with small proportions, in such good original condition.

The cupboard boasts a stunning deep rich red oxblood and brown colours. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

This item would look superb in a variety of rooms from the dining room, living room or the kitchen. The item would certainly grace any home or office and is a great investment, as it is extremely functional and ideal as a drinks or glass cabinet. So don't miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.
