Early American Boston Rocker Circa 1840
This is an original hand crafted high back American Rocking Chair.
Known as a Boston Rocker, it has a classically deep scrolled seat, high spindled back, spool turnings and rolling crest and head piece.
Made in pine, it retains its original crusty black painted surface and gilt tracery decoration - which is in notably good condition on the crest rail.
Excellent original condition throughout.
