A wonderful early 20th century oil on canvas depicting an interior scene.
The work boasts the most exquisite detail with brass candlesticks, decoy ducks, a capstan inkwell and paperwork to the bureau, an open window flooding the room with light with the reflected details picked out on the wooden floor and rug and a gateleg table upon which sits a vase of flowers and an open book.
Label verso with the name 'Mrs G. Macdonald' legible. There is a historic patch repair to the middle left of the work and some area of paint loss around this (please see photographs). The work nonetheless remains very attractive and displays extremely well.
