Early 20th Century 9ct Garnet Five stone Ring

This ring is fine example of the closed-back setting design so popular in the Edwardian and Victorian era.
It features five cushion cut almandine garnets in tapering sizes ranging between 5.2 x 4.9mm and 3.8x 3.5mm, in triangular flat claw settings interspersed with bead decorations. The sub-bezel is finely decorated with scrolling wire-work, while the shank is intricately hand engraved with a flowing scroll design.
The underside of the head is completely enclosed to house the settings and the shank bears a Chester hallmark for 1915 with the makers mark being E.J.R.The hallmark of the ring reveals the piece to have been made during the First World War.
The shank is currently UK size Q 1 /2, US size 8 1/4, but can be adjusted to your requirements in our own workshop if required. POA
Weight 2.3 grams.
