Early 20th C. Silver Plate 6 Slice Toast Rack

This is a good quality early 20th century silver plated six slice toast rack. The toast rack has a basically rectangular base with scalloped ends, seven arched dividers and an oval finger ring handle.
The toast rack is made in Sheffield by James Dixon & Sons Ltd and dates to around 1900-1930. James Dixon & Sons were a hugely successful company producing silver, silver plate and pewter between around 1806 and 1984. They are perhaps best known for the striking designs produced for the company by Dr Christopher Dresser in the 1880s.
Condition is very good, with no dings or dents, no buckling, no plate loss and just the superficial surface wear that has to be expected after around 100 years of good service. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The toast rack is 14cm / 5.5ins long, 7cm / 2.7ins wide and 13cm / 5.1ins high. It weighs 234g / 8.25oz.
The underside of the base is marked with EP for electroplate, the gothic letters J D & S for James Dixon & Sons Ltd and the famous trumpet mark that the company used for many years.
Shipping in the UK is £6 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For Parcel Post.
