This is unusual in that it is not cast but hand-beaten brass with copper feet riveted on. It had a long life in use and was mended numerous times with riveted patches beautifully shaped to replicate the form of the cauldron. It now has earned a more gentle retirement, for some time now has acted as our second fruit bowl. It could also be a useful home for your collection of carpet bowls!
