Continental Vesta
Unusual pressure opening mechanism.
Press anywhere along the striker and the lid springs open.
Stylish monogram.
There are no silver marks but it is very well made, like the silver ones.
Difficult to be precise about the age of this item but I would estimate it is from the early/mid Victorian era when the vestas were being made in this "snuff box" style.
Approximate dimensions: 51mm x 34.6mm, thickness 11.7mm, weight 41.1g.
