Christopher Dresser Decanter, London 1903

1 of 4
For Sale we have a lovely silver topped Edwardian Christopher Dresser design claret jug by the excellent silversmith William Hutton and Sons.
This silver mounted cut glass claret jug is of a stunningly reflective hobnail cut globular form with a star cut base and a silver mounts with a hinged flat cover/angular handle and spout typical of a Christopher Dresser style piece. The silver mounting carries full hallmarks for London 1903 along with the makers marks for William Hutton & Sons 1903 and a further set of hallmarks/William Hutton & Sons makers marks (minus the London assay mark) on the inside of the lid.
The claret jug is approximately 6 & 3/4 inches (17cm) high and holds a full bottle of wine with room to spare. It is in an excellent condition with only the light surface scratching/marks to the silver and the very occasional tiny nibble to the hobnail cut glass body that one would expect of a well looked after decanter of this age.
