Christofle Lumiere d'Argent Bird
A finely wrought reed warbler, La Rousserolle, from the Lumiere d'Argent bird series by Christofle of France, a name synonymous with quality Art Deco. This piece dates from more recent times, the 1980s. The body of the bird is exquisitely made in perforated silver plate, its face detailed with onyx eyes, perched in mid-flight on a silver reed, all displayed on a black marble base. Marked 'Christofle' on the tail to show its authenticity and complete with original Lumiere d'Argent mini-catalogue, as shown above.
