Circa 1900, very stylish Chinese huanghuali chair. The raised back has turned uprights and in the centre is a solid splat with foliate carving and open fretwork around it. The large seat has a fielded panel with a solid insert, and beneath this is a shaped apron. The square legs are united by stretchers. Wonderful colour and patination, and very sturdy.

Size 93cm high x 53cm wide x 43cm deep.
