Charles Horner Silver Stone Brooch C1915-20
A lovely Charles Horner silver mounted green stone brooch of elongated oval form. The brooch carries the sterling silver carries and the entwined Charles Horner mark introduced in 1915-1940.
The design of the brooch is very late Victorian in style and an almost identical brooch hallmarked for 1900, but with an orange stone, is illustrated in Charles Horner Of Halifax by Tom J Lawson (Page 61). This along with the design indicates that the brooch probably dates to the early entwined Charles Horner mark period, somewhere around 1915-1920.
The Brooch is 1 and 1/2 inches (3.8cm) long and in a very good antique condition.
