An oak chair with original William Morris "Crown Imperial" fabric, attributed to Harris Lebus, c1890. Made of solid oak, slouch cushion covered in original William Morris woven wool and mohair fabric, pierced details to the arms, original porcelain castors. A very comfortable chair, In excellent original condition with great colour and patina. Fabric is in good overall condition, but with some wear around upholstered buttons.

Crown Imperial is one of Morris' most formal patterns designed in 1876. Originally woven on a power loom in wool and mohair, now reproduced in wool. This chair has the original wool and mohair woven fabric.
