A very beautiful cased oriental damascene vanity set. This mid-century cased lipstick and matching powder compact are presented in the original case. They have not been used and so they are II superb ncondition. Both the compact lid and whole lipstick case surround are decorated with a 24 karat gold and silver Damascene landscape and so this would be an ideal golden / silver wedding anniversary gift for her. The decorations are finely crafted oriental scenes which depict the Ichinomiya, or supreme Shinto shrine of Suruga Province, Mount Fuji can be seen in the background. All clasps and hinges work perfectly. The brass was coated at the point of manufacture with a layer of transparent enamel so these items will retain their beauty and they will not require any cleaning. The mirror gives a good clear reflection. The original pale blue felt pouch, pink silk and fabric puff and sifter are present.

This compact is suitable for use with loose face powder or as a handbag mirror.
