Card Table Fire Screen Folding Tilt Games Tapestry
English Art Deco Table - Davrard London - c1940
This attractive piece of antique furniture offers great versatility and is presented in good condition.
A cleverly design table which tilts to assist with storage and offers adjustable height. There is an integral storage drawer built in to the upper frame which will hold several packs of cards, pens, counters etc, and has a roll-top cover lid.
Originally marketed as a fire-screen which converts into a games table (or visa versa!) the piece provides interest and great art deco period style. It will serve wonderfully as an occasional table, card table, work table or serving table.
The table is a quality piece with strong joints and the frame is in very good condition. The mechanism works perfectly.
The upper playing surface is a serviceable canvas but does have signs of use. It is thought that the piece is most likely to have worn a needlepoint tapestry upper surface originally.
The table stands sturdily and is bearing the original patent ivorine label.
