A Beautiful example of a Mid Victorian Elm Captain’s/ Smokers Bow Chair in superb original condition.
A large back top support leading to beautifully shaped broad arms supported by eight turned spindles.
The Seat is a single slab of Elm shaped in a saddle style, so very pleasing to the eyes. Below this the the legs are stout but nicely turned and supported by a double H frame.
There are a few marks as would be expected on a chair of this age but all joints are solid.
