Beautiful antique Camphor wood brass bound military roll top writing box, circa 1850, in excellent condition. brass banding edges, a central brass plaque to the fall, flush brass inset carrying handles to the sides, and inset handle to the front lower drawer.

Lower drawer is pulled open, this activates the roll top tambour mechanism at the top and reveals a pop up cabinet.
The interior features green baize writing surface small lockable cupboard various pidgeon holes compartments
a secret compartment can be accessed by lifting the front rail in the well upwards, until the wooden spring lever unlocks to reveal three small drawers see pics 8 and 9 , great quality item in excellent condition
