This is a really interesting piece of maritime history. The bell is beautifully cast ,I think in bronze, is a good weight (2.9 kg) and has great tone when rung. It is inscribed 'Metal taken from HMS Howe Dismantled Inverkeithing 1960'. HMS Howe was a famous British battleship which saw service service at the end of WW11 ,including at Okinawa.
