British Chess Company chess table board
This is a very fine chess table. It is Victorian and was made by the British Chess Company, Stroud, Gloucester and is stamped on the top. The board has a rosewood frame and the squares look like they are made in rosewood and boxwood. The table stands on a fruit wood barley twist column and this terminates in a triform base in rosewood.
It is a beautiful piece. The condition is very good for age and the rich woods glow. Minor age related stainings on the board as you would expect.
