This is an early 20th Century antique brass milk carrier from United Dairies (Wholesale) Ltd - stamped around the collar.
It is tin lined and has slots cut in the rim where a lid would have fitted.

United Dairies formed in 1915 as a creamery, milk bottling and distribution company.

In very good antique condition. The tin lining is stained from years of use as a plant pot holder
