Very rare and unusual piece. A boxed set of 12 trays with 6 histology sample slides on each tray. Histology is the scientific study of tissue and from the appearance of the box and the slides it dates to around 1900. The glass slides are labelled with the various samples and cover a range of tissue, nerve, glands, umbilical cord etc samples. The slides are marked 'London Hospital Histology and some have labels marked Smith and Sheppard ,Dublin, which from research was part of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Overall condition is good in line with age and use. The box has surface marks, signs of wear and use. The slides look intact except for one of the glass covers which is broken.
