Bohemian Blue Glass Vase by Vaclav Hanus
This very stylish blue glass vase was designed by Vaclav Hanus in 1957 for the Czechoslovakian glass company Hermanova Hut. It has the pattern number 20036.
Hermanova Hut was founded in Bohemia (now Czech Republic) by famous glassmaker Carl Stolzle in 1907 as an offshoot from his main Stolzle & Sohne glassworks. They began producing glass in 1910 and during the interwar years they produced some of the very finest Bohemian Art Deco glass. After WW2 they employed a group of hugely talented designers, including Vaclav Hanus, to create distinctive individual styles for the new post-war world.
This beautiful blue vase has two clear glass sides and two frosted glass sides with a graduated curved motif going down each side. It stands 20cm high and is 14.8cm across the top. It looks stunning with cut flowers in but is also a very attractive decorative piece in its own right.
There is one tiny chip in the glass on the rim at the top of one of the clear glass sides. Other than that condition is good. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
Shipping in the UK is £7 by Hermes Tracked & Signed.
Overseas customers please ask us about shipping costs before making a purchase.
