Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Art Nouveau oak office chair, featuring a revolving and reclining mechanism, which is also height adjustable, with a newly upholstered leather seat, circa 1910, in excellent condition. The Edwardian desk chair features a high-back consisting of a curved scroll shaped bar, supported by a pierced central fan splat, flanked by bar shape outer stiles. The back is also secured by shaped arms, decorated with scroll tips, which stand on shaped supports. The seat has been newly upholstered, to a professional standard, in top quality full grain red leather finished with antique bras studs. If you do not like the leather colour, we can replace it with a colour of your choice for £40 labour. The underside of the seat has been re-webbed in the traditional manner therefore, it provides ample support. The seat front is decorated with a shaped and moulded apron. The chair is extremely comfortable to sit on as it benefits from a newly upholstered seat with a supportive high-back. The Art Nouveau oak office chair retains its original cast iron and stell mechanism allowing it to rotate 360 degrees and recline backwards. The seat height can be adjusted by turning a ribbed metal screw on the underside of the chair, while the tension of the reclining action can be adjusted by turning the small wheel on the front of the mechanism. The oak office chair mechanism has been cleaned and restored and is in excellent working order. The Art Nouveau oak office chair sits on four splayed oak legs that terminate on new English made solid brass & mug castors.
The Art Nouveau oak office chair boasts a rich golden-brown oak colour. As it boasts the original patination, it has a fantastic colour this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This antique revolving desk chair would look superb in a variety of rooms in the home, especially the office or study as it is so comfortable. This item would certainly grace any home. So, don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of office antique furniture.

The seat has been newly upholstered, to a professional standard, in top quality full grain red leather. If you do not like the leather colour, we can replace it with a colour of your choice for £40 labour. The reclining and adjustable height mechanism is in good working order, having just been cleaned and serviced. There is some play to the mechanism but this is perfectly acceptable, and in line with the age of the chair. There is a small chip to the top of the cast iron block (visible in the photos) this does not compromise the structural integrity of the mechanism and is purely a cosmetic related condition. The Art Nouveau oak office chair boasts a rich golden-brown oak colour, having been cleaned and French polished by hand, to a professional standard, in our workshops. The chair incorporates new English made solid brass & mug castors, which are in excellent working condition. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
