Art Deco Peach Glass Chevron Vase Davidson c.1930s
This is a very striking Art Deco Pressed Peach Glass Chevron Vase from the late 1930s. The vase is of hexagonal form with the chevron pattern repeated three times around the body and a stepped base.
The vase was designed by W.J.G. Fullerton in 1938 for George Davidson & Co of Gateshead on Tyneside. It is listed as pattern no.295 in their 1940 catalogue. George Davidson founded his company in 1867 and they remained in business for almost exactly 100 years before finally closing in 1966.
The \"Chevron Vase\" was produced in a number of colours and in four different sizes, of which this is the largest. Peach was an unusual glass colour that was introduced by Davidson & Co in 1937 but only produced for a very short period of time prior to the outbreak of World War II.
Condition is very good with no chips or cracks. It is a great looking vase that catches the light in interesting ways. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The vase stands 23.5cm / 9.25\" tall and is 10.2cm / 4\" wide across the top. It weighs 933g / 32.9oz.
Shipping in the UK is £6 by Hermes Tracked & Signed Courier.
