This is a highly decorated, antique Chinese wooden and lacquered octagonal section three-tiered wedding basket. It was created in the early 20th century. The panels have very detailed depictions of Chinese figures, plants, birds perched on branches, etc. that are auspicious and indicate a long and happy marriage. The foot is painted with floral pendants and geometric ornament. This would make a fantastic piece for any room, or unique gift for an engaged couple
