This is an antique zodiac seal display. A Chinese, soapstone seal set in oak frame, dating to the Victorian period and later, circa 1900.
Delightfully carved Chinese zodiac characters in a superb frame
Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
Each of the figures carved and engraved in soapstone
Later oak frame, with substantial stocks, quality glass and velvet dressed rear
Each seal set within an oval mount, pressed between glass to give a floating effect
Eye-catching mount, with patterned silk cotton surround with fretwork card insert
Rear glass pane ideal for backlighting, with frosted glass finish
