This is a beautiful antique paper knife/letter opener in wood with a design of chrysanthemums on the handle which is probably inlaid with boxwood. It is very finely made and finished. I wonder whether it is of Japanese in origin - it has an oriental elegance about it and of course the flower is a chrysanthemum.

It measures 8 inches long and 1 inch wide at the handle. It shows signs of wear at each end but otherwise is in very good condition. Postage for this item is free within the United Kingdom.
