A rare, fabulous Victorian biscuit box made from silver plate with an English design registration diamond on the frame for 26th April 1881. The makers marks is also present for the silversmith, James Pinder.

The egg shaped box stands on wonderfully decorative cast supports and the box itself embossed and hand-chased all over, quite exquisite. At the top are two egg shaped finials, one is static and the other is used to open the box by pressing down which releases the catch and the two sides can then be opened revealling a lavishly gilded interior.

A splendid piece in superb condition. 8" x 7 1/2" x 10" tall.
