Antique Silver Centre Seconds Pocket Watch
Antique silver centre seconds chronograph pocket watch.
The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed but only the first letter is visible. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 51mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the case backs for London (import mark), 1909 with a sponsor’s mark for George Stockwell. From 1 June 1907, Stockwells acted as assay agents, facilitating the import into Britain of foreign gold and silver items which had to be assayed and hallmarked in a UK assay office before being released for retail.
The case has a minor indentation to the bezel and another one to the side of the case but not too detrimental. The hinged case back has some unevenness.
The main face of the glass lens is in lovely condition, some minor nibbling to the bevelled edge.
The dial is in lovely condition with pin-set hands. The chronograph feature is operated by way of the sliding button next to number 2. The watch is designed so that the movement stops ticking when the chronograph is switched off.
The watch comes in a new presentation box. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
