Elgin Art Deco Open-Face Pocket Watch
Made in USA - circa 1925
This is a stylish Elgin, Art Deco, Open-Face pocket watch in mint condition, made in the USA, circa 1925. This watch comes with a silver-coloured chain. It would make an excellent collector’s gift!
DIAL: The silver dial and has black Arabic Art Deco numerals with outer minute divisions and blued Art Deco hands. It has a subsidiary second’s dial, which also has Art Deco hands. There is an elegant gold-filled background design with the signature “Elgin” in the upper centre.
MOVEMENT: The high-quality anchor lever movement is screwed, with 15 jewels and has a high-quality regulator. The watch is currently in good working condition. However, we cannot guarantee absolute accuracy in any antique pocket watch.
The movement is signed “Elgin NATL Watch Co. U.S.A, 15 Jewels” and numbered 27342076.
CASE: The watch lies in a gold-filled,open-face case with an Art Deco finish on both sides. There is an Art Deco monogram with the word “SIS” on the front. The inner side of the case is signed “From Uncle Phil & Morris April 9th, 1925” and “S.W.C CO 14 KT Gold-Filled 25 Years”. It is numbered 5833246.
