Antique Rosewood Card Table By George Bullock
Magnificent quality antique George III rosewood brass inlaid card/console table by George Bullock having an outstanding quality brass inlaid rosewood and coromandel wood swizzle top opening to reveal a green baize, brass inlaid rosewood and coromandel wood frieze supported by a rosewood brass inlaid pedestal column standing on a platform shaped base with a carved gilded wood frieze and original carved gilded and embossed claw feet
A truly spectacular example of the highest quality by one of the country's most decorated cabinet makers of the period. This showcase piece boasts an abundance of fine features throughout.
George Bullock (c.1777-1818) is one of the most celebrated English cabinetmakers of the Regency period, and those pieces made or designed by him during the early part of the 19th century are particularly recognisable by the abundance of British flora in their ornament and the often used native timbers such as oak, yew, holly, larch and laburnum, in place of the more exotic woods that were so favoured by other leading makers of the time.
Dimensions:
Height 73.3 cm (28.86 in)
Width 99 cm (38.98 in)
Depth 59.8 cm (23.54 in)
