A good quality antique Regency chair in beautifully figured mahogany dating from circa 1820. A design very much inspired by the Klismos chair, with unusual indented back. The back carved with acanthus leaves, with fan shaped cresting rail and standing on twist turned front legs and sabre legs to the back. The seat rail is also carved with acanthus leaves, the upholstered seats have been newly recovered. Solid and sturdy, although a few old mends to the back of the chair (see photos). Beautiful patina and figured to the mahogany of these handsome chairs.

Beautiful colour and patina to the mahogany. Solid and sturdy. Wear and marks commensurate with age. Newly recovered over existing upholstery which is sound.
