An absolutely charming late Victorian money box made from silver plate, possibly continental in origin rather than English. There is a mark on the underside of an Eagle over J & C into a shield.

The box is in the form of a dog's kennel with a dog inside. The box comes complete with a key which moves the locking lever to open the box and snaps shut to lock, hence we have left the key tied to the side, to ensure it isn't locked inside.

Dating to the late Victorian era, around 1890, it remains in excellent condition measuring 3 5/8" x 2 5/8" x 2 5/8". As charming as they come.
