Antique Leather Travelling Vanity & Stationery Box.
Most unusual to find a combined Vanity & Stationery box.
The outer covering is tooled & gilded leather which retains an antique green hue.
All metal fittings are etched & gilded brass, the carrying handle is also etched & gilded & in addition is articulated.
Once unfolded the interior shows black tooled leather & green watered silk panels. There is a hidden leather backed removable mirror in the lid. 5 glass containers with silver coloured metal tops ( not hallmarked )
The pen holder lifts to show a storage compartment. The leather lid to base opens to reveal one large open compartment, 2 lidded compartments, one of which is tin lined & one square velvet pad.
The box has a working lock & original key.
Condition, Excellent for age, a few scuff marks to leather as can be expected. Mirror has slight age related misting.
