Stunning Coromandel Wood Ladies Vanity Box
A superb Victorian coromandel wood ladies vanity box containing original glass and silver plate bottles, jars and containers. It would have been owned by a lady of status, as in its day it would have been very expensive, and would have accompanied her on her travels.
Lifting the lid you first notice the array of bottles and jars, of which there is an original and complete set. They have silver plate lids which have been engraved with quality engine turning and a swag of foliage. To the center of each piece is a vacant cartouche. The two scent bottles which can be seen at the back of the tray still have their original glass stoppers to keep the scent in good condition.
The front six containers are in a tray which lifts out to reveal a space for keeping, gloves, handkerchiefs, compacts, etc.
The mirror on the inside of the lid is in great condition with no blemishes or foxing to the glass.
There is a small pusher to the rear, underneath the mirror, and when depressed a “secret” drawer is released at the front of the box. This draw is fitted out for jewellery, watches, etc.
The lock is in working condition and I believe the key is original.
The quality is best shown with the hinges to the lid being etched and all the screw heads in the same orientation.
It is all in superb condition.
It measures 32 centimeters wide, 24 cmentimeters deep and 18 centimeters tall.
It weighs 4625 grams.
UK quality packaging and post is £25.00 or it can be collected from Stamford, Leicester or Newark.

We want our customers to be satisfied with their purchases, so we offer a money back guarantee. Items must be returned within 14 days and in the same condition as sent. Please note that postage and shipping costs are non-refundable.
