This is a characterful hand woven woollen Kashgai carpet dating from around 1920. The carpet has a typical warm colour palette of blues, ivory and rusty madder red and an attractive diamond lozenge design set within a field of stylised flowers and birds. The carpet is in excellent condition and measures lot 607 216 cms by 160 cms including its woollen fringes.
