Antique Heuer gun metal chronograph pocket watch
UK POSTAGE ONLY FOR THIS ITEM
Antique gun metal chronograph pocket watch by Edouard Heuer.
E Heuer & Co was founded in Saint-Imier, Switzerland in 1860. In 1985, the TAG group purchased a majority stake in the company thus forming TAG Heuer.
This particular watch has a high grade 19 ligne chronograph movement, identified as being manufactured by Edouard Heuer, which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has some marking from when it has been opened in the past.
The watch measures 51mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gun metal and it is in good condition with just light surface discolouration in places but nothing serious at all.
The glass lens is in good condition.
The dial is in good condition. There are a couple of short hairlines at number 3 but they are faint even when viewed through a jeweller’s loupe. There are two subsidiary dials, one for constant seconds and the other records up to 30 minutes. The chronograph is operated by pressing the winding crown to start, again to stop and then again to re-set to zero. Pin-set hands.
Edouard Heuer patented his first pocket watch chronograph in 1882 and his first wrist watch chronograph in 1914... the crown was at the 12 o'clock position as these first wrist watch chronographs were adapted from the pocket watch design.
The watch comes in an antique presentation box.
ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
Please contact us before placing international orders so that we can advise of shipping prices and to see if customs regulations allow us to post watches to your country.

Credit / debit card purchases can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the \'Buy Securely\' button on each listing page.
We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
