A unique Art Nouveau fully hallmarked 9 ct / kt gold locket with a hallmarked 9 k gold belcher chain. The locket & chain are in superb condition. Both of the front and back of the locket are beautifully engraved with floral motifs and scroll work. The locket is a shape that is not at all common. On opening the locket two shield shaped recesses for photographs can be seen. Each compartment has a fixed gold bezel which would frame the photographs perfectly. On the right hand side the original photograph of an officer serving in WWI makes this antique particularly special.

The maker's mark ( W.T.W ) is clearly visible as are the hallmarks, showing this enchanting locket was assayed at Birmingham, England in 1916. The chain is marked '9 K'. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. Neither the locket nor chain have any dents, inscriptions, monograms or initials.
