A sensational heavy cast bronze inkwell beautifully cast in the form of an Owl, retaining his wonderful original glass eyes, undamaged and a fabulous gilded finish.

To the front are cast tree branches with foliage which act as a pen rest as can be seen in the pictures.

The hinged lid is in perfect working order and opens to reveal the removable glass ink chamber.

English in origin and dating to around 1880, Victorian in era, this is a rare opportunity to acquire an adorable gem in excellent condition, larger than most other examples and one of the finest we have had in some years. 6" tall.
