Antique English Silver Plated Biscuit Box / Barrel
A magnificent and highly decorative biscuit box has an integral pierced or reticulated tray standing on four fabulous foliate legs, hand chased, terminating in ball and claw feet.
The box is covered in a variety of engraved Ferns, so very English and very Victorian, always a highly sought-after decoration. The top of the hinged lid is topped with a wonderful figural finial of a bird (Eagle).
The box is unmarked and dates to the Victorian era, around 1880.
