A beautiful Victorian biscuit box or barrel dating to around 1870. The base stands on three original decorative scroll feet each of which is stamped on the reverse with an English design registration diamond shaped lozenge hard to decipher but this piece would date to around 1870.

Both the base and lid is beautifully decorated with overflowing fruit baskets interspersed with other fruit vignettes. The top of the lid is mounted with a silver cow acting as the finial to lift off the lid.

The glass is stunning, heavy crystal, frosted and stars cut in all the way around and a deep star-cut base.

Excellent condition, the base measures 8 1/2" in diameter and stands 6 1/4" tall to top of finial.
