A beautiful English brass book stand made from solid cast brass, the central pierced panel having decorative engraving

The stand's angel can of course be adjusted and even lays flat, standing on four ball feet. The back is where the makers mark has been struck for William Tonk and Sons of Birmingham together with the stylized sun mark.

Quite wonderful, in excellent condition, the front panel measuring 8" x 8". The small book shown (for photographic purposes only) measures 6 1/2" x 5" when closed. Victorian in era, dating to around 1880.
