A most unusual and highly decorative desk or counter bells standing on a solid Oak base. If you look underneath it is wonderful to see the high quality fined with the polished brass fasteners, usually one would expect to see very unsightly nuts and bolts, this was clearly a very expensive example in it's day.

The bell is flanked with two highly decorative foliate scrolls. The mechanism of the bell is also unusual, with the spherical finial to the top being lifted and released to ring the bell, an exquisite example. Excellent condition spanning 6 1/2" wide the base measuring 6" x 3 1/4" and standing 5" tall to top of bell. Victorian in era, dating to c.1880.
