This is an antique double ink well. An English, ebonised mahogany desk tidy from the Aesthetic period, dating to the late 19th century, circa 1880.

Quality desk apparatus with dark tones
Displays a desirable aged patina
Ebonised mahogany with deep black finish
Striking glass ink wells with glass in good order

Silvered carry handle to centre with elegantly serpentine pull
A pair of cobalt blue ink wells dressed with brass hinged lids add a touch of colour
Both resting within a square recess to each side of the piece

Low, removable pyramid cover to the centre beneath the handle
Wide drawer for storing writing instruments and letter paper to base
Dressed with a dashing small drop handle with circular loop

This is a superb antique double ink well, with a pair of enticing blue glass receptacles. An elegant addition to a writing or office desk and delivered waxed, polished and ready for display or use.
