Antique Diamond star pendant, silver and gold
You can't help but be enchanted by this beautiful antique diamond star pendant.
A wonderful six point star with a floral design to the centre and smaller rays peeking out from between the larger points.
To the centre there is a sparkling old cut diamond with an estimated 0.20ct weight, this is surrounded by a mesmerising plethora of rose cut and old cut diamonds giving this star the most alluring twinkle.
It is crafted in 9ct gold with a silver coated front and back, this was common on Victorian diamond pieces as the cool silver tone enhances the colour of the diamonds.
Stars were a very popular motif in Victorian jewellery and they still are today, they provided a symbol of guidance, light and wisdom.
This beautiful antique star pendant comes on a later sterling silver trace chain necklace and originally started out life as a brooch, the fittings for the brooch now removed and it has been converted into this magnificent pendant.
Marks and era:
Unmarked, 19th century, Victorian era and tested as 9ct gold and silver
Condition:
Good used condition overall with signs of use and wear commensurate with age, converted from a brooch.
Approx measurements:
1.30" length
0.95" width
5.32 grams weight
Approx total diamond weight 1.10ct, estimated within the setting, H-I colour, VS clarity.
Gemstone weights are estimated within the setting and should be used as a guide rather than a guarantee.
