This is an antique demi-lune folding card table. An English, walnut and amboyna half-round games or side table, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.
Striking and exceptional, a treat for any drawing room or club lounge
Displays a desirable aged patina and in very good order
Select walnut shows fine grain interest and warm caramel hues
Inlaid amboyna with boxwood stringing a perfect contrast
Beautifully figured d-shaped top ideal for central room or wall placement
Fold-over top rotates smoothly through 90-degrees to reveal the generous playing surface
Delightful inset cobalt blue baize ideal for four players, with a diameter of 77cm (30.25")
Deep drum apron with beaded edge hosts a useful internal compartment
Graceful quintet of turned baluster supports rising from a domed carved bulb
Inset knees skilfully accentuated with oak leaf frieze
Four decorated cabriole legs with scrolled oak leaf toes
