This is a finely carved head in hardwood of an immortal with black glass eyes dating from the second half of the 19th Century.

The detailing on the face, particularly in the eyebrows, moustache and beard, is of a high standard whereas the back of the head has been more simply finished (presumably because it would not have been seen).

This tactile bust possesses a lot of character and would make an interesting talking point in the living room or as a paper weight on a desk in a study.

Dimensions: 22 cm length x 11 cm width x 10.5 cm height. The carving is shown next to a tape measure for scale in the last photograph.

Condition: The carved head is in fine antique condition with a good colour and patina. There are some minor shrinkage splits but no damage or losses.
