Antique Chad Valley Mohair Bear / Dog on Wheels
This lovely vintage dog / bear on wheels has the red and white Chad Valley maker's label sewn into his tummy. He has mohair fur, glass eyes, and a black stitched nose and mouth. He has a jointed head and is hard stuffed. He is sewn on to a metal frame with wheels, which we believe to be original. We believe him to date from the 1930s.
Condition: Overall in fair condition, with some playwear consistent with age. He is overall dusty and faded, and his mohair fur is thinned with some bald patches, particularly to his back. One ear is partially loose and is no longer sewn down, and his tail also has some loose stitching. His head joint is a little loose. The metal undercarriage is a little bent and has some surface corrosion. The stitching that holds the bear to the frame is a little loose. His pull-along string needs replacing.
The approx. measurements are as follows:
19cm high (including wheels), 26cm long. Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
