This is a beautiful antique Balouch carpet from West Afghanistan with a beautiful and unusual colour palette. The carpet, which dates from the early 20th century, has a wonderfully abrashed field which runs from light chocolate through to chestnut. The two medallions are a lovely salmon colour and the carpet has narrow compartmentalised borders. This has a very soft and lustrous wool and is in excellent condition.
The carpet has bindings to hang it on a wall and probably has never been walked on it is in such nice condition. It measures 194 cms by 113 cms.
