A wonderful Victorian silver plated biscuit server, an elegant shape and beautifully decorated with a variety of engraved work.

One of the sloped lids retains the original monogram, the other side with a presentation inscription "Walton Highway Athletic Sports / June 13th 1894 / Quarter Mile Flat Race (Open) / 1st Prize / Won by Frederic Wm. Elwen"

The handle can be moved either way and one of the two lids will lift, hence this box is technically a biscuit server.

The underside has a design number embossed, but I couldn't find a markers initial.

Standing on a highly decorative frame, this grand box is in excellent condition. 7" x 6" x 9 1/2" tall to top of handle.
